The Order of the Badge of Honor has the shape of an oval framed on either side by oak branches. In the upper part of the Order there is a five-pointed star, under which there is a relief inscription "USSR" on the background of the banners. In the lower part of the order there is a relief inscription "A sign of honor".
The banners and the star are covered with ruby-red enamel and are carved along the contours by gilded rims. Bands of banners and inscriptions are gilded, oak branches, the lower part of the Order and its general background are oxidized.
The Order of the Badge of Honor is made of silver. The height of the order is 46 mm, width - 32.5 mm.
The order with the ear and ring is connected with a pentagonal shoe, covered with a silk moire ribbon of light pink color with two longitudinal orange stripes along the edges. The width of the tape is 24 mm, the width of the strips is 3.5 mm.
After renaming the Order of the Badge of Honor to the Order of Honor in 1988, the appearance of the Order changed insignificantly. The Order of Honor differs from the Order of the Badge of Honor by the fact that the inscription "The Sign of Honor" in the lower part of the obverse is replaced by an overhead relief image of a sickle and a hammer and two divergent laurel branches. The cover is fixed to the base of the order with the help of two pins [4]. At the transition from the Order of the Badge of Honor to the Order of Honor, the numbering of signs was not interrupted
